Tractor Pulling Euro Cup Herning 2009 Videos

As posted before we went to the annual tractor pulling euro cup in Herning (Denmark) last weekend. We had a great time based on nice weather, exciting competitions and especially we had much fun with the jaerbuen tractor pulling team at the campsite.

WLAN mit Compaq 6715s und Debian Lenny

In der Grundinstallation von Debian Lenny auf dem Notebook Compaq 6715s hat WLAN nicht funktioniert. Es ist der  BCM4312 (rev 02) WLAN-Chip verbaut:

box:~# lspci
30:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11a/b/g (rev 02)

Erst eine nachträgliche Installation des Paketes b43-fwcutter hat es zum Leben erweckt:

box:~# aptitude install b43-fwcutter

Während der geführten Installation wurde noch die Firmware runtergeladen, danach wurden sofort die verfügbaren Netze im NetworkManager angezeigt.

Desktop shortcut in VMWare Server 2

In VMWare Server 2 you can speed up the access to a virtual mashine by creating a desktop shortcut. This function is located at the lower right side in the web interface of any virtual machine. However you can generate it manually, if you know what to type. This worked for me, but I always had to type in username and password. This wasn’t usefull for my setup and so I searched a bit and found out, that the credentials can be deposited by adding the parameters -u and -p to the desktop shortcut.

The original shortcut looked like this:

„<path to vmware-plugin>\vmware-vmrc.exe“ -h „<server IP>:8333″ -M <machine index>

Just adding the -u and -p as followed doesn’t seem to work:

„<path to vmware-plugin>\vmware-vmrc.exe“ -h „<server IP>:8333″ -u <username> -p <password> -M <machine index>

It allways ended up with bad username/password messages, no difference if i tried to put the parameters in quotes or changed the order.

I finally got it to work, when I used the direct path to the virtual machine instead of the -M paramter. The shortcut then looked like this:

„<path to vmware-plugin>\vmware-vmrc.exe“ -h „<server IP>:8333″ -u <username> -p <password> „[<datastore>] <machine path and name>„

The string between the last quotes is exact the one that stands in the „Configure VM“ dialog under „Virtual Machine Configuration File“.

I hope this is helpful for somebody.

Daytrip ab LBC

ich habe mal den Ryanair-Flugplan etwas studiert um die möglichen Tagestouren (ohne Übernachtung) ab Lübeck (LBC) zu ermitteln. Viel geht da im Moment nicht – genauer gesagt kommt nur London Stansted  (STN) in Betracht. Den Rückflug kann man Montags und Freitags allerdings auch über Frankfurt-Hahn (HHN) gestalten.

Folgendermaßen sieht es zur Zeit aus, gültig bis 28.3.2009, natürlich ohne Gewähr:
